Did this page today to get an idea of where my mind is at for anatomy without any proper studying yet. Also tried combining the shapes ive been practicing into larger forms (see sideways turret on the right). Overall its abit of progress but the shapes still aren’t perfect. I think hes got a bit of sass tbh. No head tho.

I feel like I did a good job on the body and legs. I don’t think I like how I did the ears and face fluff, but otherwise I like all the rest of it. The tail was a bit hard but I think I made it look… fine lmao The only thing is that I didn’t really sketch it from scratch. I copied the lines until they looked good, I didn’t build the shapes and I think I do that with a lot of things I use a reference for. I’m going to try to draw some things from REAL model references (or at least very realistic references), not other drawings, so I get practice forming the proper 3D shapes and putting them into time and space properly

Aaaages ago my friend gave me his dragon model to paint after I offered to do it. I did get her out a little while back to paint but had such a bad experience with my airbrush not playing nice that I didn’t end up starting her. I’ve finally felt in a creative frame of mind and I’m really pleased how she turned out. She’s less vibrant than she photographs, more of a dark red. I did have a bit of a disaster where I didn’t realise I had paint on my finger and smudged it on her wing and there’s some light areas where the red came off because I was holding her before the paint was dry but I’m trying to shift my mindset from “these are mistakes I must learn from and not repeat” to “fuckups happen, it can still look good”. Gonna add a bit more chameleon paint as the wash mostly covered it so hopefully I don’t go overboard on that. Looking forward to giving her to my friend. I love his insistence that she’s a girl dragon, I fall too often into male as default. And I also appreciate his patience so I hope she’s worth the wait!

Did a bit of extra line practice because I was struggling to get consistent circles drawing my steam stickers. Some more cubes for perspective and it feels like a slight improvement? Might start anatomy tomorrow, not sure.

Monday I was laying in bed n heard pretty chimes in the wind.i thought thats odd I don’t remember having metal chimes then I saw on the wall 2 metal chimes going crazy like a hurticane n there was no wind in the house.i tried rational thought n it didn’t apply the spirits of the house we’re making themselves known.it was mjoe n Sharon from the backyard saying hi im here..it was baffling at first then… Monday

Made first attempts with pinhole things 1) Very bad one!! Like an hour? Just to test if the ancient looking paper I got was gonna work 2) I kinda like this, can’t decide what colours ar better (the last one I scanned with printer but it kinda bugs me with the lines) fun, can see sun in the corner like in kid’s drawings, details more defined than I thought (very right, you can see a bell tower) Think this was one day 3) used a really tiny tiny like 10x5 tin box? Very flat. Should’ve used it for cigarettes if I smoked Anyway I let this one like four days but then it rained real hard and the rain got it, but I placed it in a better position and you can see the sun line in the center which I liked! Was also really precariously attached to the railing separating my garden form the old man’s chickens below so I was kinda scared it’d fall in oblivion Super fun I love these things

Had a go at sketching this lunatic cultist sticker off steam. Went ok I guess, but I ran out of room for his left arm. I opted not to to do the shading as I probably couldn’t do it with colours let alone greyscale. Also gave him little legs because i thought it’d be funny.
