Bab Boujloud is the main gateway into the ancient Medina in Fez. It’s is definitely one of the most beautiful attractions of Fez and it’s unmissable for any visitors, as the Medina is one of the most markable spots of the city. The gateway is lined with glittering mosaic tiles and have made it one of Morocco’s most famed buildings. It was built in 1913 during the french occupation, a quite young monument compared to the buildings dated from the 9th century in the Old Medina. Known also as the Blue Gate, the entrance leads to the heart of the Medina, where the visitors can find any kind of products, being a complete shopping center for the fassis (residents of Fez) and to foreigners who wants to take some souvenirs from Morocco. The Medina has also a vast number of cafes and restaurants, mostly of them offering nice views from its terraces.
